The Holidays are upon us again. Such a fabulous time of year for traditions with family and friends, but also a horrific time of year for the waist line if you aren’t careful. Did you know that the average person gains 5-7 pounds during the holidays. EEEKKK!! I have learned a few tricks to help keep me on track while still enjoying the traditions of the holidays. Here are a few tips to prevent the added weight gain this year.
Make sure you are getting your beauty sleep! Sleep is so important. Sleep controls your your hormones and helps your metabolism function properly. On average we need about 7-8 hours of sleep each night. If you aren’t getting that, it is affecting your ability to keep off and lose weight! When your body isn’t getting enough sleep the levels of the stress hormone, cortisol, are higher, which increases weight gain. Sleep also controls your hormones that regulate your hunger and full buttons. these cause you to reach for food because your body is trying to stay awake, and also overeating because it can’t decide when it’s had enough. All of this combined could turn into a rollercoaster for a holiday indulgence disaster. If you are having difficulty sleeping, I recommend trying It Works New You Body Revitalizing Formula. It helps improve sleep quality and memory. It has many other health benefits as well. Try taking two at night before bed and one in the morning. I think you will notice a big difference in how you feel.
This is a busy time of year so try to start your day with exercise. That way it won’t get pushed off when something else comes up. Plus it will also boost your metabolism for the rest of your day. 30 minutes is a great length of time for a workout. It doesn’t need to be hours at the gym. Pop in a workout video, or get outside for a brisk walk. If you don’t have much time, take as long as you have, even 15 minutes. Anything to get you moving will help. Consider Taking It Works Ultimate ThermoFit to boost your metabolism even more. ThermoFit is a naturally based weight loss formula that will promote increased calorie burning, boost your metabolism, and boosts energy.
For a quick post work out recovery, refuel your body with Greens Berry Blend or Orange Blend as well as some It Works Ultimate ProFit Protein. My favorite is to have it in a smoothie. I simply add one scoop of Vanilla Ultimate ProFit, two scoops of Greens Berry Blend, a hand full of fresh spinach, a few frozen strawberries, and almond milk together in the blender. Blend until smooth, and Enjoy at home or on the run. I also have a delicious Chocolate Ultimate ProFit and pumpkin smoothie recipe that is perfect for this time of year.
Protein will help keep you full and reduce cravings. This does not just come from meat, Veggies are a great hidden protein source. Filling up with fruits and veggies earlier in the day will help you get off to a healthy start. Keep lots of pre-cut fruits and veggies on hand so when you get hungry it’s ready to eat. That may prevent you from grabbing the cookie or pie that’s on the counter instead. If you do indulge in some of those sweets, make sure you have your It Works Advanced Formula Fat Fighters on hand. Simply take two pills 15 minutes and up to one hour after you eat. It will absorb some of those fats and carbohydrates to keep your body from storing them. These are great for after that heavy thanksgiving or Christmas feast as well. Fat Fighters will help balance healthy blood glucose level and reduce cravings too. I make sure I don’t leave home without them, that way I am prepared for anything.
Drink up!! With water that is. Sometimes its difficult to resist that array of festive, high calorie drinks that tend to come with this time of year. Quench your thirst with water before reaching for the sugary, creamy, or alcoholic beverages. Did you know that most of us don’t drink enough water on a daily basis? On average the body needs about eight, 8 ounce glasses per day. This converts to 2 liters or a half a gallon. Need A few ways to get enough? Start your day with a glass of water. Your body is dehydrated after not having fluids during the night. Also keep a water bottle with you to be a visual reminder, and choose water instead of other sugary options with meals. You can add Greens berry blend to your water at anytime during the day to add flavor, get more fruits and veggies, and give you a natural boost of energy.
This time of year can put some people into a depression for one reason or another, and that is a lonely feeling. The stress of all the shopping, gift buying, meal planning, and organizing can also become too much. I love It Works Confianza, for its calming and anti-anxiety affect. Confianza helps to improve your focus, fight fatigue, and help your body cope with all the stress life throws at you during the holidays, or anytime of year. Elevated cortisol levels increase the chances of weight gain, so I want to keep my stress under control. The holidays are not about money, try not to stress about what to buy. Our family has actually stopped doing gifts because for one that is not what its all about, and two, it changes the importance of it all. Make sure you take time to get out and get some fresh air each day. Drink plenty of water, try to eat right, and most importantly just relax with the ones you love, and soak it all in.
I hope these tips will help your holidays go smoothly without the added weight gain, and after the season is over, continue with these same tips to also improve your everyday lifestyle.
Wishing you all the best holiday season and many blessings this year!
